Out With the Old, In With the New (2 Cor. 5:1-21)

1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven; 3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, shall not be found naked. 4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed, but to be clothed, in order that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9 Therefore also we have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Therefore knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences. 12 We are not again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, that you may have an answer for those who take pride in appearance, and not in heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15 and He died for all, that they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. 16 Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him!”

Job 13

Still I Will Hope in God

“Behold, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it. What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you. But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God. As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all.

Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom! Hear now my argument and listen to the pleadings of my lips. Will you speak falsely for God and speak deceitfully for him? Will you show partiality toward him? Will you plead the case for God? Will it be well with you when he searches you out? Or can you deceive him, as one deceives a man? He will surely rebuke you if in secret you show partiality.

Will not his majesty terrify you, and the dread of him fall upon you?  Your maxims are proverbs of ashes; your defenses are defenses of clay.

“Let me have silence, and I will speak, and let come on me what may. Why should I take my flesh in my teeth and put my life in my hand?

Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face. This will be my salvation,
that the godless shall not come before him. Keep listening to my words, and let my declaration be in your ears.

Behold, I have prepared my case; I know that I shall be in the right.  who is there who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die. Only grant me two things, then I will not hide myself from your face:

This will be my salvation, that the godless shall not come before him. Keep listening to my words, and let my declaration be in your ears.

Withdraw your hand far from me, and let not dread of you terrify me.  Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and you reply to me.  How many are my iniquities and my sins?  Make me know my transgression and my sin. Why do you hide your face and count me as your enemy? Will you frighten a driven leaf and pursue dry chaff? For you write bitter things against me and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth. You put my feet in the stocks and watch all my paths; you set a limit for the soles of my feet. Man wastes away like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten.

Though You Slay Me – Shane & Shane featuring John Piper

Jesus said the Father already knows what we need before we ask (Matt. 6:32). He also knows our desires. But He still requires that we ask Him for those things. James 4:2 says, “Ye have not, because ye ask not.” God expects us to ask! Please partner with our International Outreach ministry so we can continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ around the world, and continue to serve locally as well in a greater capacity! Thanking you in advance for your support. No amount is too small or too large!

God is a restorer..

On Christmas Day, #2017 I received one tangible, sentimental gift that came from my niece, Ayisha. As I drove down the dark, desolated road, my son handed me this beautiful, turquoise blue envelope that contained a beautiful card inside and a little blue pouch which held an original Tiffany bracelet, just like the one she gave me brand new, over 20-years-ago that I never took off of my arm. . She restored unto me the bracelet that was forcibly taken from me 4-years-ago as I cared for my Dad dying with bladder cancer. It was a painful ordeal that brought tremendous hurt and pain to my life. Nevertheless, life goes on and I want someone to know that no matter what may happen in your life, stay positive, keep your head up, and keep it pushing and turn all of your problem and worry over to God because he is a healer, a provider, a comforter and a restorer.

The bracelet I received on yesterday has helped me to release all the pain inside that led up to the most devastating, traumatic crucifixion of my life. It helped me to realize how blessed I really am to be alive after being beaten by 10 cops for no reason at all in a cell and stripped of my every possession, down to my expensive Wacoal brazier that I never got back.

Getting this bracelet helped me to know that I did overcome after being treated less than dog. It hurts but I had to face reality that I shall continue to do good no matter how people treat me. I understand that it was a real life Jesus moment that only I could pay the price for doing a good deed. (the tears won’t stop falling) but I feel God doing the miraculous in my life.

Thanks again to my niece, Ayisha, I really appreciate you for helping my heart to heal. No bandage needed. God has me in his care.. In the book of Deuteronomy 30:3-13 explains how God will restore the lost things in our lives. I have enclosed the scripture as a reminder to myself that God is man that he can’t lie. God is a RESTORER!

Deuteronomy 30:3-13

“God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered. 4 No matter how far away you end up, God, your God, will get you out of there 5 and bring you back to the land your ancestors once possessed. It will be yours again. He will give you a good life and make you more numerous than your ancestors. 6 God, your God, will cut away the thick calluses on your heart and your children’s hearts, freeing you to love God, your God, with your whole heart and soul and live, really live. 7 God, your God, will put all these curses on your enemies who hated you and were out to get you. 8 And you will make a new start, listening obediently to God, keeping all his commandments that I’m commanding you today. 9 God, your God, will outdo himself in making things go well for you: you’ll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life. Yes, God will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as he enjoyed doing it for your ancestors. 10 But only if you listen obediently to God, your God, and keep the commandments and regulations written in this Book of Revelation. Nothing half hearted here; you must return to God, your God, totally, heart and soul, holding nothing back. 11 This commandment that I’m commanding you today isn’t too much for you, it’s not out of your reach. 12 It’s not on a high mountain – you don’t have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it. 13 And it’s not across the ocean – you don’t have to send sailors out to get it, bring it back, and then explain it before you can live it.”

Peter Heals a Lame Beggar

◄ Acts 3:2 ► You can’t force anyone to come into the Lord’s house. God will not force himself on you. You must open up your heart and let him in and accept him, just like the begging man did at the gate called beautiful in the Bible. #themanatthegatecallbeautiful!

Acts 3

“One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Peter Speaks to the Onlookers While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade. When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see. “Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’ “Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets who have spoken have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
