Have you ever been “Surrounded By Enemies, But GOD Delivered?”

A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.

Psalm 3 King James Version (KJV)

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Holy Spirit Come Fill This Place….

What Does the Bible Say About… The Holy Spirit?

I wanted to share this Article by:  David Treybig of Vertical Magazine

“I will ask the father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth…”

On the evening before the day He would pay the penalty for all the sins of mankind by His death on the cross, Jesus told His followers what would happen to Him. He explained what He was going to do for them—and us—in the future.

After Jesus observed the Passover—which Christians are still to observe as an annual memorial of His death—He told His disciples that He would answer their prayers asked in His name. Jesus also reminded them to show their love for Him by keeping His commandments (John 14:13-15).

Jesus then made this astounding promise: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you” (verses 16-17, New American Bible).

Many translations use the pronouns “He” and “Him” in reference to the Holy Spirit in these verses, but this is an error in translation. The flaw springs from the mistaken idea that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead. The doctrine of the Trinity, which describes this common belief, is nowhere found in the Bible.

Instead, the Bible reveals the Holy Spirit to be the “power” of God (Luke 1:35; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8; Romans 15:13)—as well as His life force through which He imparts life to others, His mind and His very essence (compare John 5:26; 6:63; Romans 8:27; 1 Corinthians 2:16; John 4:24). .

An advocate is a helper or comforter. While on earth, Jesus was an advocate for His disciples. Various translations of the Bible also use the terms “Helper” and “Comforter” to describe this additional Advocate—the “Holy Spirit” (John 14:26)—that was going to come from God and reside in Christians.

What’s so important about having the Holy Spirit?

The Bible reveals several important benefits that come to us if we have the Holy Spirit. These benefits include:

• Understanding God’s truth. Jesus called the Holy Spirit “the Spirit of truth” (John 14:17) and added that it would teach us all things (verse 26).

• Being identified as Christians. Although well-intentioned people throughout the centuries have come up with various humanly-devised checklists to determine who is a Christian, the Bible says that having the Holy Spirit within us is what identifies us as “children of God” (Romans 8:14-16).

• The promise of eternal life. Romans 8:11
says, “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you” (New Revised Standard Version).

How can we receive the Holy Spirit?

During another of God’s annual festivals—the Day of Pentecost—Jesus’ disciples, who had been waiting in Jerusalem as He had commanded, received the Holy Spirit in a miraculous way (Acts 2:1-4). Peter then explained how others could also receive it:

“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call'” (Acts 2:38-39).

Never despise small beginnings… You have to start somewhere….

“Who despises the day of small things? Men will rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. “(These seven are the eyes of the LORD, which range throughout the earth.)”  Zechariah 4:10

Happy Wednesday to each of you… I bring you greetings from Irvine, California…  WIFI Ministries welcome you, and would like to thank each of  for you love and continued support…

Today, We will be discussing small beginning… As we discuss, plan and build on what God has given us, it’s ok to know where you came from, but more so important to know where you are headed… We are headed in the right direction of our local ministry and I’m excited.. I’ve never seen a greater time than now to expand and build on to what we already have… I love the fact that God is guiding us every step of the way… I remember when we started our base ministry, 2nd Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Long Beach, CA, we started our ministry right in the living room of my father’s house… It began with  a few of my father’s preacher friend’s,  family and friend’s…  It was a blessing because in 6 weeks,  God had blessed us to have service in a beautiful sanctuary that was full of the anointing… There was never a dull service no matter how big or how small the crowd was… I can never forget the small beginning, and how God saw fit to bless this ministry to remain there in that beautiful atmosphere the whole time of our local ministry…  I do believe starting small is good, and allow God to lead us and show us his blessings…

I will keep you all updated with the progress as we celebrate the life of  both of my parents birthday next week…  It’s a blessing to have them both, and I treasure all the happy times we have spent together, one on one or together… Yup, those were some of the happiest times of my life to worship with both  of my parents,  my Dad and my mom under the same roof…(wow~)   Two fireballs in one room… (lol)….   Not only that, but it was a time when our whole family was pretty much under one roof…  It was phenomenal and simply amazing…     I believe things are different now, and it’s important to recognize that God is moving in a new direction that we must flow in… I’m certain that as long as we flow in the Holy Ghost we cannot go wrong…   Blessings to each of you and I pray each of you have a blessed and wonderful week!!!  (Minister Evelyn Diane Thomas)

Barnes’ Notes on the Bible / A great commentary’s view…

“The simplest rendering is marked by the accents. “For who hath despised the day of small things? and (that is, seeing that there have rejoiced and seen the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel, these seven, the Eyes of the Lord, they are running to and fro in all the earth,” 1:e., since God hath with joy and good-pleasure beheld the progress of the work of Zerubbabel, who can despise the day of small things? The day of small things was not only that of the foundation of the temple, but of its continued building also. The old men indeed, “that had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes” Ezra 4:12. But while in progress too, Haggai asks, “Who is left among you that saw this house in its first glory? And how do ye see it now? is not in your eyes such as it, as nothing?” Haggai 2:3. But that temple was to see the day of great things, when “the later glory of this house shall be greater than the former, and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts” Haggai 2:9.

They are the eyes of the Lord which run to and fro – He uses almost the words of the prophet Hanani to Asa, “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 yet this assurance that God’s watchful providence is over the whole earth, betokens more than the restoration of the material temple, whose only hindrance could be the will of one man, Darius.

The day of small things – is especially God’s day, whose “strength is made perfect in weakness; who raised Joseph from the prison, David from the sheepfold, Daniel from slavery, and converted the world by the fishermen and the tentmaker, having Himself first become the Carpenter. “Wouldest thou be great? Become little.” “Whenever,” said Theresa, (Ribera, vita Ther. ap. Lap.), “I am to receive some singular grace, I first annihilate myself, sink into my own nothingness, so as to seem to myself to be nothing, be capable of nothing.”      Barnes’ Notes on the Bible / A great commentary’s view…

Life Detours

John 14:6 (ESV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.

I’ve found in life that things rarely go the way we want them to according to our plans…  It’s often that we forget to seek God first for the real plans he has for our lives.    A lot of times we tend to put the cart before the horse and jump the gun and find ourselves feeling run over, run down and and for some of us just beat down and used.

Nevertheless, I’ve come to let you know that as long as you continue to seek God and keep him first in your life, no matter what life in general throws at you, you will be able to stand, stay with God and know the “PURPOSE” for your life.

See,  I found out just the other day that life will hand you some things so bitter and so hard to swallow that some circumstances of life can make you become bitter if you let them.   Ahhhhh… I said, “If you let them.”    Now, what do you mean by that?  Well, I’m certain that we do have a right to get angry when men and women trespass against us..  Naturally, the human mind  is designed to do one or two things or more when under pressure…  Number one….  Most of us instantaneously become angry…  Number two… Some of us just shut down, and number three… Some of us become combative  and want to fight…   I heard Donnie McClurkin say, “The last thing you want to do is get a Christian mad, because they will come out fighting…”Wow.. I’ve been in a number of fights myself….     Nevertheless, when we seek God first, he detours us from certain situations that most of us find ourselves in because we tried to do things on our own…

In all things seek God first… Simply said:   “Put God First….”    Know the purpose for your life… What I’m really trying to say is,  when you know your purpose in life, life can hand you whatever it will or may, and you can still stand and weather the storm. and you can live and stand your ground according the scriptures and the script and plan that God  has for your life…..

See, it’s the devil’s / advisory’s  job to throw us off track… Yes, I said the adversary’s  job to get you off track, and off focus  so he can come in for the kill and try to steal, kill and destroy your joy….  See, even the enemy knows that if  they can steal your joy, they can try and steal your testimony…. .  But I come to tell you today that  Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world…   Serving bold notice that  the Devil does not have the victory over any of our lives….   Only if you give it to him…. “Stay with God!!”

I decree and declare on today that the Joy of  the Lord is my strength, and I shall have the victory and walk in the purpose driven life that God said I shall have….  Just stop and reach up and take what’s yours….   We have power, we just have to stop and call on the name of “JESUS” when we feel like all hope is gone, and we feel like  life detours are too much for us….   Just remember that we have a God that standing by with his arms opened wide waiting on us to come his way and  ask him for guidance, and help…. I tell you, if you seek God in everything you do, you can’t go wrong….

Now, the trials of life will come without notice, but stand strong, and know that the glory of the Lord will reveal itself to you by leading and guiding your footsteps in the right directions…  Please know that God has your back in all situations….

Glory… I feel your anointing and power of God on today as I was detoured on last night..  Taken way out of my way as I drove home, delaying me about 1-2 hours…  Oh, but somebody say I began to plead the blood of Jesus, and say God as long as you guide me home safely, I know everything is going to be alright…   See, I had on my traveling shoes!!!   We have to learn to put our trust in him!!!!      Trust God, he will always steer you in the right direction….

Just tell the Lord:  “When the storms of life are raging… Stand by me Dear Jesus!!!”   Don’t you dare give up, hold on and be strong, because God will step in and it won’t be long…. Just don’t give in… Hold on!!!!

Bible Verses about Detour:

Ephesians 2:5 ESV / 4 helpful votesEven when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Ephesians 2:1 ESV / 4 helpful votesAnd you were dead in the trespasses and sins

Galatians 2:20 ESV / 4 helpful votesI have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

John 14:6 ESV / 4 helpful votesJesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3:16 ESV / 4 helpful votes“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Hebrews 9:22 ESV / 3 helpful votesIndeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

2 Timothy 3:16 ESV / 3 helpful votesAll Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

2 Timothy 2:15 ESV / 3 helpful votesDo your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Galatians 3:16 ESV / 3 helpful votesNow the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV / 3 helpful votesTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Romans 8:1-39 ESV / 3 helpful votesThere is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. …

Romans 6:8 ESV / 3 helpful votesNow if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

Romans 6:1-23 ESV / 3 helpful votesWhat shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. …

Romans 3:23 ESV / 3 helpful votesFor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

John 1:1-51 ESV / 3 helpful votesIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. …

Genesis 1:1-31 ESV / 3 helpful votesIn the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. …

Revelation 21:8 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Revelation 7:14 ESV / 2 helpful votesI said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7:13 ESV / 2 helpful votesThen one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?”

Revelation 3:19 ESV / 2 helpful votesThose whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

Revelation 3:10 ESV / 2 helpful votesBecause you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.

Revelation 3:8 ESV / 2 helpful votes“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3:1 ESV / 2 helpful votes“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. “‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

1 John 3:2 ESV / 2 helpful votesBeloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

1 John 1:9 ESV / 2 helpful votesIf we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 2:4 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;

2 Peter 1:20 ESV / 2 helpful votesKnowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.

1 Peter 3:15 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

1 Peter 2:9 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Hebrews 13:17 ESV / 2 helpful votesObey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Hebrews 12:3 ESV / 2 helpful votesConsider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

Hebrews 12:2 ESV / 2 helpful votesLooking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 11:6 ESV / 2 helpful votesAnd without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Hebrews 9:12 ESV / 2 helpful votesHe entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

2 Timothy 3:17 ESV / 2 helpful votesThat the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

1 Timothy 4:1 ESV / 2 helpful votesNow the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

Colossians 2:8 ESV / 2 helpful votesSee to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Ephesians 4:22-24 ESV / 2 helpful votesTo put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 2:2 ESV / 2 helpful votesIn which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—

Ephesians 1:4 ESV / 2 helpful votesEven as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Galatians 5:19-21 ESV / 2 helpful votesNow the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 1:8-9 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:8 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.

2 Corinthians 11:3 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:54 ESV / 2 helpful votesWhen the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

1 Corinthians 15:53 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

1 Corinthians 15:45 ESV / 2 helpful votesThus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:26 ESV / 2 helpful votesThe last enemy to be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15:22 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

Romans 9:1-33 ESV / 2 helpful votesI am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit— that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen. …

Romans 8:38-39 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 3:20 ESV / 2 helpful votesFor by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. …

John 14:26 ESV / 2 helpful votesBut the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John 14:1-31 ESV / 2 helpful votes“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms.
