Grace, Peace through Jesus Christ –

Scripture:  II Corinthians I- 2 Corinthians 1  (NIV)

2 Corinthians 1

 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

   To the church of God in Corinth, together with all his holy people throughout Achaia:

 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise to the God of All Comfort

 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

 8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters,[a] about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

Paul’s Change of Plans

 12 Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity[b] and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. 13 For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that, 14 as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.

 15 Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you first so that you might benefit twice. 16 I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia, and then to have you send me on my way to Judea. 17 Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?

 18 But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas[c] and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

 23 I call God as my witness—and I stake my life on it—that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth. 24 Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

He speaks about David:  David reassures him in his frail humanity… You recall he is wrestling with some issues… We all have sinned and come short of his glory…

“What is man, that though are mindful of him, and the son of that though visits him”

“God is a holy God” He is pure and righteous in all of his ways…  But David, has been included in the sacred texts… David gives him hope, because David messed up…  But God redeemed him… Most of us are intimately aware of makes us jacked up..

We all have sinned and fallen short of his glory… With your mouth you worship him, but with your deeds it tells a different story…Some of us don’t deserve to be sitting in a sanctuary of righteousness,  but thank God for his forgiveness.

God is a God of mercy that will give you another chance…  David said “Create in me a clean heart!”

Psalm 23 (NIV)

A psalm of David.

 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters,

 3 he refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

   for his name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk

   through the darkest valley,[a]

I will fear no evil,

   for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

   they comfort me.

 5 You prepare a table before me

   in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

   my cup overflows.

6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me

   all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD

   forever.

It;s not that I love her, loving her suits me.. When she walks into the room, a light comes  on in my head… She said she let him lay some hands on her… (smh)… God said it was good…  Pastor says:  ‘He was not lying either”  They made a great point to show their love for each other which was such a blessing to see husband and wife still in love…

He honors Dr. Jamal Bryant in his absence on today…  – he bless everyone on today.. Now he is laying hands on his wife and walking her back to seat.. He was giving off a little love Morse code…

The worship “cooked his grits” (lol)…  Number #1  – He was excited about the church” #1- Celebrated the covenant – #2 we celebrated the blood of Jesus –  The precious blood of Christ.. – What makes the blood of Christ precious?  He had pure blood with no sin, and the only blood qualified to stand before the throne…  The name of Jesus is part of a category called nouns… Parts of speech.. It is defined as a person, place and things.. Proper noun is a particular name of a person, place or thing… God, is a person, place and  thing and an event – He is coming back for us!!

Scripture Reading:  Isiah chapter (NIV)

Isaiah 52

1 Awake, awake, Zion,

clothe yourself with strength!

Put on your garments of splendor,

Jerusalem, the holy city.

The uncircumcised and defiled

will not enter you again.

2 Shake off your dust;

rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem.

Free yourself from the chains on your neck,

Daughter Zion, now a captive.

3 For this is what the LORD says:

“You were sold for nothing,

and without money you will be redeemed.”

4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says:

“At first my people went down to Egypt to live;

lately, Assyria has oppressed them.

5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the LORD.

“For my people have been taken away for nothing,

and those who rule them mock,[a]”

declares the LORD.

“And all day long

my name is constantly blasphemed.

6 Therefore my people will know my name;

therefore in that day they will know

that it is I who foretold it.

Yes, it is I.”

7 How beautiful on the mountains

are the feet of those who bring good news,

who proclaim peace,

who bring good tidings,

who proclaim salvation,

who say to Zion,

“Your God reigns!”

8 Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices;

together they shout for joy.

When the LORD returns to Zion,

they will see it with their own eyes.

9 Burst into songs of joy together,

you ruins of Jerusalem,

for the LORD has comforted his people,

he has redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The LORD will lay bare his holy arm

in the sight of all the nations,

and all the ends of the earth will see

the salvation of our God.

11 Depart, depart, go out from there!

Touch no unclean thing!

Come out from it and be pure,

you who carry the articles of the LORD’s house.

12 But you will not leave in haste

or go in flight;

for the LORD will go before you,

the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

The Suffering and Glory of the Servant

13 See, my servant will act wisely[b];

he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.

14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him[c]—

his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being

and his form marred beyond human likeness—

15 so he will sprinkle many nations,[d]

and kings will shut their mouths because of him.

For what they were not told, they will see,

and what they have not heard, they will understand.

Isaiah 66

New International Version (NIV)

Isaiah 66

Judgment and Hope

1 This is what the LORD says:

“Heaven is my throne,

and the earth is my footstool.

Where is the house you will build for me?

Where will my resting place be?

2 Has not my hand made all these things,

and so they came into being?”

declares the LORD.

“These are the ones I look on with favor:

those who are humble and contrite in spirit,

and who tremble at my word.

3 But whoever sacrifices a bull

is like one who kills a person,

and whoever offers a lamb

is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;

whoever makes a grain offering

is like one who presents pig’s blood,

and whoever burns memorial incense

is like one who worships an idol.

They have chosen their own ways,

and they delight in their abominations;

4 so I also will choose harsh treatment for them

and will bring on them what they dread.

For when I called, no one answered,

when I spoke, no one listened.

They did evil in my sight

and chose what displeases me.”

5 Hear the word of the LORD,

you who tremble at his word:

“Your own people who hate you,

and exclude you because of my name, have said,

‘Let the LORD be glorified,

that we may see your joy!’

Yet they will be put to shame.

6 Hear that uproar from the city,

hear that noise from the temple!

It is the sound of the LORD

repaying his enemies all they deserve.

7 “Before she goes into labor,

she gives birth;

before the pains come upon her,

she delivers a son.

8 Who has ever heard of such things?

Who has ever seen things like this?

Can a country be born in a day

or a nation be brought forth in a moment?

Yet no sooner is Zion in labor

than she gives birth to her children.

9 Do I bring to the moment of birth

and not give delivery?” says the LORD.

“Do I close up the womb

when I bring to delivery?” says your God.

10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her,

all you who love her;

rejoice greatly with her,

all you who mourn over her.

11 For you will nurse and be satisfied

at her comforting breasts;

you will drink deeply

and delight in her overflowing abundance.”

12 For this is what the LORD says:

“I will extend peace to her like a river,

and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream;

you will nurse and be carried on her arm

and dandled on her knees.

13 As a mother comforts her child,

so will I comfort you;

and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

14 When you see this, your heart will rejoice

and you will flourish like grass;

the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants,

but his fury will be shown to his foes.

15 See, the LORD is coming with fire,

and his chariots are like a whirlwind;

he will bring down his anger with fury,

and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For with fire and with his sword

the LORD will execute judgment on all people,

and many will be those slain by the LORD.

17 “Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one who is among those who eat the flesh of pigs, rats and other unclean things—they will meet their end together with the one they follow,” declares the LORD.

18 “And I, because of what they have planned and done, am about to come[a] and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory.

19 “I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations—to Tarshish, to the Libyans[b] and Lydians (famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. 20 And they will bring all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the LORD—on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the LORD. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the LORD in ceremonially clean vessels. 21 And I will select some of them also to be priests and Levites,” says the LORD.

22 “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the LORD, “so will your name and descendants endure. 23 From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the LORD. 24 “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”

2 Timothy 1:12

New International Version (NIV)

12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

“Ideas” – 40-Days- Of-Lenten- Season

Get connected to God and stay connected!
Get connected to God, and Stay connected!
“Ideas”
Get your creative juices flowing – In the most narrow sense, an idea is just whatever is before the mind when one thinks. Very often, ideas are construed as representational images.. People have all sorts of  business ideas, etc… Whatever ideas you have make them come to life during this 40-days-of Lenten Season…
Today as we embark upon on the 12th day of our Lenten Season we will focus on: “Ideas”…  We all have them… We all possess innovation and we all have great ideas stored in our brain… It just sometimes take a little courage and sometimes a little encouragement to put our great ideas into action.   I’ve always had great ideas and there were times when a light would come on in my head and I was able to follow through with every idea I dreamed about… I still dream on today and I have great ideas for my future that will make free for life to do Ministry if I could just connect to the right place , and the right people..  “IDEAS, IDEAS, IDEAS..””I heard  my son’t grandfather say one time that nothing has ever came to a sleeper but a dream…(T.L.G., Sr. “) – All I”m trying to say is don’t just dream about your ideas, but make the ideas you have  become a reality…

Happy Birthday Cousin Geneva… I love you…

Get connected to God, and Stay connected!
I love you Cousin...

 P.s. :  Justin just ask me could you celebrate your birthday with him on the 23rd of March?   I told him I would ask you… It’s a Friday night, and we would love for you to go to Disneyland with us if  you will….  Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!

“Integrity”

Get connected to God and stay connected!
Get connected to God, and Stay connected!

“Integrity”

1.  Adherence to moral and ethical principles;soundness of moral character; honesty.

2. The state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve the integrity of the empire.
3. A sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition:the integrity of a ship’s hull.

Today as we enter into day 10 of our Lenton season… We pray and discuss “Integrity” -…
I have enclosed above 3 different definitions according to Webster’s what Integrity means… When I hear the word integrity the first word that comes to mind for me is the word “TRUTH”…  Just plain old tell the truth… Can I trust  you?  Your integrity means a lot in today’s society…  What type of moral and ethical principles do you have?  Are you to type of person that feeds off of lies, or are you the type of person that feeds of the truth?

When I speak truth, it puts the devil to shame because God says in his word that he hates a “Liar” –  A liar lacks integrity… They have no regards for integrity…

Also, I’m certain that God hates a liar and they cannot tarry in the eye sight of God… In Proverbs 12:17 it says: He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Truth proves a man is righteous, and he impacts matters of controversy for righteousness. Therefore, a man who speaks the truth is valuable for court and friendship. A witness that misrepresents the truth shows a deceitful spirit, and he impacts controversies by confusing justice and righteousness (14:5,25; 19:28; 21:28). He is despised and avoided.Truth and righteousness are inseparable. There can be no justice without truth, and there can be no truth without justice. Equitable relationships among men, whether private or public, require honesty and truth. If these are compromised, then righteousness is also compromised. If less than the truth is presented, then deceit has entered to that degree. From economic transactions to religious declarations, righteousness depends upon truth.The blessed God of the Bible, Creator of heaven and earth, is a God of truth (Deut 32:4). So much is He a God of truth, He cannot lie (Heb 6:18; Titus 1:2). His Son Jesus Christ is called the Faithful and True Witness (Rev 3:14; 19:11). His written revelation, the Bible, is very sure and true in every word and all it declares (30:5; Ps 19:9; 93:5; 119:138).God hates liars. They confound and overthrow righteousness in the earth, whether private or public. Their misrepresentations deceive men into believing things that are not true, which perverts decision-making, misleads people into trouble, condemns the innocent, frees the wicked, hides His gospel, and promotes frauds and scams. Therefore, all liars shall spend an eternity after this life in the lake of fire (Rev 21:8).God hates liars. “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him … a lying tongue … a false witness that speaketh lies” (6:16-19). Therefore, good and honest men reject liars! David said, “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight” (Ps 101:7).God hates liars. One of the Ten Commandments condemns false witnesses (Ex 20:16). The LORD warned men to stay far away from any falsehood in trials (Ex 23:1-7). If a man perjured himself in court, he received the punishment that was being deliberated, even if it was capital punishment (Deut 19:16-21)! What a way to enhance the memory!

God hates liars. And He loves to expose them. Be sure your sin will find you out. Achan lied about stealing from Jericho, but he was discovered and stoned and burned with his family (Josh 7:1-26). Ananias and Sapphira lied about their large gift to the church, and members of the youth group buried them that day (Acts 5:1-11). What an object lesson!

God hates liars. The first liar in the universe was the devil, who lied to Eve and damned the human race to eternal death. He is the father of all lies, and there is no truth in him (John 8:44). Anyone telling a lie is following his wicked influence and showing that their heart is under his control, even ministers of the gospel (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15; Eph 2:1-3).

God hates liars. When men prefer lies over truth, the God of truth will send them lies to believe, as their just punishment (I Kgs 22:1-40; Ezek 14:6-11; II Thess 2:9-12). When men reject the obvious truth that is revealed in the created universe, he blinds their minds and leaves them to disgusting same sex perversions (Ps 19:1-6; Is 44:9-20; Rom 1:18-27).

Therefore, let every reader tremble before the God of truth! Let every reader hate lying, exaggerating, slandering, perjuring, misrepresenting, fudging, or any other form of deceit. Let every reader prove and show his righteousness by always exalting honesty and truth, no matter the circumstances or situation. Let him be honest and open at all times.

Let every parent teach and enforce truth in the home, so that children grow up hating and avoiding lies and liars as much as their Creator. Parents should require sufficient research before opinions are declared. They should punish exaggeration. And on the hierarchical scale of offences, children should know clearly that lying is the worst of them all.

Thankfully, the God of truth sent His Son to save some liars from their sins, which He did by paying the eternal debt of punishment for them, and then creating in them a new heart that loves truth and hates lies (Eph 1:3-12; 2:1-10; 4:24). The gospel of Jesus Christ found in the Bible is the only source of truth in the world that can save a person from the devil’s deceit and destruction that is on every side (I Tim 6:3-5,20-21; II Tim 3:13).

Your Integrity means a lot to God… Just be real and tell the truth is my advice…

TV / Movies / Music

A large segment of the television, movie and music industry consists of movie and television studios, producers, directors, and actors — otherwise known as Hollywood. This category also includes the recorded music industry, commercial television and radio stations and networks, as well as cable and satellite TV operators.

In general, the entertainment industry leans Democratic in its political giving. In 2008, Democrats received 78 percent of the industry’s contributions. This continues the trend of the entertainment industry contributing more to Democrats during the past two decades with 70 percent of donations going to Democrats compared to 29 percent for Republicans.

Of the $48.7 million in total campaign contributions given by this industry during the 2008 election cycle, individuals associated with the industry contributed more than 80 percent, with political action committees accounting for most of the rest. Through their PACs, Comcast Corp.and Time Warner spent about $2.9 million and $2.7 million respectively during the 2008 election cycle. [Read more Background]

I own no rights to any of this material… I was only enlightened by each book I am recommending to you .. Minister Evelyn Diane Thomas, WIFI Ministries.. http://www.wifiministries.org
 These are my two recommendations of mus read books for Enlightenment… Your life will change forever!

This is a preview. The number of pages displayed is limited.  Publication Date: September 2, 2009
In Carl Bozeman’s profound and deeply compelling On Being God: Beyond Your Life’s Purpose, the author reveals an experience that changed his life and led to the inspiring revelations so beautifully described in his book. Bozeman puts forth the convincing belief that we are not a composite of the people and events and experiences beginning at birth, rather we are the “now” and endowed with such creative energy as to make each of us a god. Knowing this, and fully recognizing what exists within us?our own power and our knowledge?will direct us beyond the mundane and into the realm of embracing our infinite and divine nature. Only then can we recognize that what we perceive as our reality is, in truth, only a small part of what and who we are. Accepting this true and exquisite authenticity will bring purpose and joy into our lives.

I also want to recommend one of my all time favorites that is full of “ENLIGHTENMENT” from the beginning to the end… (Min. Evelyn Thomas) http://www.wifiministries.org

Author, Why Do I Say Yes When I Need To Say No?
This book, World War Me takes responsibility for its author’s weakness while reminding us that satan seeks each of our demise. It gives distinction between weakness and wickedness which is often sutured together as one reality in the minds of people.

CHAPTER 9 Pattern of Desire
The issue of desire is something seldom explored in church, yet it remains the elephant in the room for most believers. The struggle between the flesh and the spirit, the war between the pull of the world and the still, small voice of God, tears at the heart and mind of most who are striving to be all that God created them to be. Desire is good, but it can also be bad! For many, knowing how to lift and separate personal longing from divine inspiration can be a daunting task. We vacillate between pondering what Jesus would do while still making impulsive, bad choices with far-reaching consequences, and simply doing nothing, becoming so spiritual that we are of no earthly good. Should we follow our hearts or use our heads?
The answers can be elusive when the seductions of our own desires overwhelm us.
I can think of no one more able to tackle this issue than Dr. Jamal Bryant. Not only is he a skilled orator, but his ability to separate fact from fiction and make the spiritual practical is a gift which promises to transform all who are privy to his teaching and wisdom.
Not only is this a guide that readers can comprehend and apply to their lives, but it is literally a roadmap to help the readers navigate through the challenges of desire to a place of mastering them and gaining the victory which they so deeply desire to experience in their lives. Dr. Bryant gives the readers permission to have desires, yet gives them the key to not allowing their desires to have them by offering solutions which empower the reader to focus their inner promptings toward permanent victory and blessing. This is a must read for those who want to transform their longings into all that God wants them to be.
MICHELLE MCKINNEY HAMMOND
Author, Why Do I Say Yes When I Need To Say No?
King David declared forthrightly, “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after…” (Ps. 27:4 KJV). I so marvel at David because he is the only person I know to have made such a bold claim and accomplished it. There are so many natural human needs—the need for affection, the need to be affirmed, the need to be empowered, and the need to be embraced. In other words, David meant that he didn’t have any of those needs or desires.
Most of us have desires, whether legal or illegal, godly or ungodly, secular or sacred, we all have many desires. How then do we channel our energy from destructive desires to empowering desires? The aim and scope of this book is to help us redirect our desire. Not long ago, I had a problem with my car and the battery went dead because I left the lights on. I asked a passerby, “Can you give me a jump?” Something strange happened. He pulled out cables from his trunk, connected them to his car, and then connected them to mine. There was transfer of energy. His car needed energy to move, my car needed his energy to be turned on. The desire was the same, but the place was different.
Most of the things we do in sin are natural desires that have been corrupted through carnal consciousness. It is my hope that our mind frame will line up with the will of God so that our desires will be godly desires and not demonic desires.
No matter what age you are, you have desires. If you desire the same thing at 40 that you did when you were 10, then your desire is dysfunctional. Likewise, if you still want the same things now as you did before you were saved, then your desires are misappropriated. There is a tension of desire called conflict and crisis of desire. For example, a drug addict may hit rock bottom and want to get away from the substance and lifestyle that has stripped him of his family, finances, job, and self-esteem. While going through the healing process, his desire may tempt him to use drugs again, so internal conflict ensues because his consciousness has shifted. The same thing happens when you grow up in the Kingdom. Just because you are saved doesn’t mean you will not desire things that are unethical.
In Romans 7:18-19, 24, Paul said,

I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing… What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

Do you desire something that will satisfy your flesh or something that will satisfy your faith? When David was on the balcony, he saw Bathsheba bathing across the street and fell into temptation to fulfill the desire of his flesh. Nathan, the prophet, showed up and asked him why he had risked his title and relationship with God in trying to feed the appetite of his flesh. David then understood that he could no longer make the flesh his first priority:

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple(KJV).

Chapter 1

PRINCIPLES OF DESIRE

One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple(Psalm 27:4 NKJV).

desire is a hunger, a craving, a preoccupation, or an internal aim for an external conquest. In one word, a desire is a wish. For example, as you read this book, you are experiencing the fulfillment of a desire. Even if you are reading at the behest of someone else, you are fulfilling the desire to please that person. It is strange that people are not taught how to desire. Desire can be fulfilled without practice. Sickness and old age do not diminish desire; they just change the objects of your desire.
You have to be in a vegetative or a complete meditative state to stop desiring, and even then, you have to set the intention not to desire.
“Falling in love is the paradigmatic
example of desire”
—William Irvine1

In the different stages of growth, a human being has different desires. A baby girl’s desire may be milk, a dry diaper, and warmth. As she grows into a little girl, she may desire attention and acceptance. When she becomes a woman, she desires affection, and as she matures into an elder, she desires assistance. In the male world, things are a little different. A boy’s desire may be centered around things, like toys, building blocks to construct a castle, and later a gun to shoot the castle down. As a young man, he may desire power, money, friends, and great success in his career or business. As he approaches his prime and matures, he desires a mate and wants to leave an unforgettable legacy to his children. As you see, neither age nor gender matter. Desire plays a key role in all of our lives at every stage. If at 40 your desire is still the same as it was when you were 10, your growth in consciousness must have become stunted.
In life, we decide for ourselves what to desire. When we become born again, our desires ought to be different from what we desired before we were saved. If our Christmas lists as saved people mirror the same lists that we had when we were not saved, that means our desires may not have changed or matured.
Society, today, teaches that to achieve happiness and fulfillment, we have to change our job, hairstyle, wardrobe, spouse, income, and other external factors. But God urges us to change internally in order to be happy and fulfilled. We do not think up desires; they are formed in us.
The greatest example for understanding desire is falling in love. Two people go on a date for the first time. Their intentions may be to just get to know each other and have a wonderful evening. However, if one of them wakes up the following morning in a bed that is not their own, that person may be humiliated, embarrassed, and even shocked. In the initial plan to go out on a date, he or she probably had not planned on having sex.
According to William Irvine, falling in love is, in fact, an act of going against our will.2 Lust is different in terms of desire, because it can be fulfilled with any willing participant. But when you fall in love, there is an object of your affection that no other person can replace.
So on today I dare you to pick up these two books that recommend highly, you surely will be enlightened for the rest of your life…
